Algebra is slowing down new topics
A small manipulation error can obscure a bigger idea. We separate foundational fluency from the new reasoning a question requires.

A small manipulation error can obscure a bigger idea. We separate foundational fluency from the new reasoning a question requires.
We connect algebra, graphs and calculus so the student can recognise when an approach is useful.
We practise identifying the goal, selecting information and checking whether an answer makes sense.
What we work on
Tell us the awarding body, whether this is AS or A-Level, and the topics currently being taught. Further Maths is a separate course; we discuss the relevant specification and options before confirming a specialist.
Algebra, functions, trigonometry and calculus, with emphasis on reasoning and connections.
Interpreting data and models, probability and communicating conclusions in context.
Modelling motion and forces, using diagrams and assumptions before calculations.
Clear working, effective use of time and independent attempts at unfamiliar problems.
An example of the approach
A derivative can tell you how a quantity is changing. Before calculating, identify what the variables represent. After calculating, interpret the result in that context rather than leaving it as an isolated number.
Personal, considered support
We consider the course, the student’s starting point and how they learn before confirming a suitable tutor.
Your written quotation explains the agreed tuition. We discuss lesson timing and the support needed before you commit.
Our safeguarding policy requires enhanced DBS checks, identity checks and references before tutors teach.

Straightforward answers, before you take the next step.
Tell us the specific area and course. We confirm a tutor with the appropriate subject coverage rather than assuming all options are interchangeable.
Further Maths needs its own course and option check. Explore our Further Mathematics page or mention it in your consultation enquiry.
We can discuss your goals and the work needed. No specific grade is guaranteed; the plan depends on your starting point and ongoing progress.
Your next step
Tell us about the student’s course, what feels difficult and what they hope to achieve.
