We help students select evidence, develop an explanation and organise their thinking into a clear response.
Command words, task focus and the time available all affect the answer. Practice connects those demands to the student’s actual course.
Knowing a text matters, but so does using that knowledge. We practise recalling useful ideas and building an argument from them.
What we work on
English Language and English Literature are distinct qualifications. Share the exam board, the course you want support with and any Literature set texts. We confirm a suitable tutor and the relevant assessment requirements before lessons begin.
Interpreting unfamiliar extracts and explaining how language and structure contribute to meaning.
Planning a response, making deliberate choices and reviewing clarity, accuracy and organisation.
Working with the student’s set texts, themes, characters and relevant context rather than assuming every course uses the same books.
Developing an argument, choosing evidence and writing a focused answer within the available time.
An example of the approach
Identifying a technique is a starting point. A stronger response explains what a particular word or image suggests, supports that interpretation with evidence, and connects it to the question.
Personal, considered support
We consider the course, the student’s starting point and how they learn before confirming a suitable tutor.
Your written quotation explains the agreed tuition. We discuss lesson timing and the support needed before you commit.
Our safeguarding policy requires enhanced DBS checks, identity checks and references before tutors teach.

Yes. Tell us which qualification and skills need attention. We confirm the appropriate tutor and course coverage before agreeing lessons.
No. The student’s work should remain their own. Tuition develops understanding, planning, analysis and independent writing.
Bring a recent piece of work if possible. We can discuss how they interpret questions, choose evidence and organise their argument.
