When the foundations feel uncertain

Fractions, negative numbers and algebra can affect many later topics. We look for the step that is missing before adding more practice.

When practice is not transferring to exams

Recognising a worked example is different from choosing a method alone. We work on spotting useful information and explaining each step.

When confidence has taken a knock

A quiet space to ask questions and make mistakes can help a student return to work they have started to avoid.

What we work on

Support with a clear purpose.

Tell us the exam board and whether the student is entered for Foundation or Higher. Topic depth and assessment demands differ. For IGCSE, share the exact qualification too; we confirm the right course specialist before arranging tuition.

How lessons work

Number and proportion

Fractions, percentages, ratio and proportional reasoning, connected to practical and exam-style problems.

Algebra and graphs

Manipulating expressions, equations and graphs, with attention to why a method works.

Geometry and measures

Diagrams, units and geometric reasoning, with the required topics matched to the course and tier.

Statistics and probability

Interpreting information, selecting calculations and explaining what the answer means.

An example of the approach

Start with the reasoning

If 15% of a quantity is 24, finding 1% first gives 24 ÷ 15 = 1.6. Scaling to 100% gives 160. The useful question is not just “What is the answer?” but “Why are we dividing by 15, then multiplying by 100?”

Personal, considered support

A match you can discuss.

We consider the course, the student’s starting point and how they learn before confirming a suitable tutor.

Clear arrangements before lessons

Your written quotation explains the agreed tuition. We discuss lesson timing and the support needed before you commit.

Teaching with care

Our safeguarding policy requires enhanced DBS checks, identity checks and references before tutors teach.

Your questions

Your GCSE maths questions.

Straightforward answers, before you take the next step.

Do you support Foundation and Higher maths?

We discuss the student’s tier, topics and goals, then confirm suitable tutor availability. The plan is based on their actual course rather than a generic revision checklist.

Can you help a student who wants to secure a pass?

We can discuss support with core understanding, practice and exam preparation. We do not promise a grade: progress depends on the starting point, attendance, practice and other circumstances.

Can I enquire before I know the exam board?

Yes. Start with what you know. The school can confirm the qualification and tier, and we check these before matching a tutor.

Your next step

what would help.
